YL Savitskiy is a young entrepreneur, millennial, podcast host, fitness junkie, and adventurer. Born Yakov Leonidovich Savitskiy, he spent the first year and a half of his life traveling between Lithuania and Russia as his parents prepared to immigrate to the United States. Nine days after graduation from college, YL took a leap and followed his dream of living in Las Vegas, Nevada. YL also recently launched a new podcast called “The Millennial Lie”, On the show, YL and his guests unravel some of the biggest lies that hold millennials back and expose them to new ways of thinking.
Why do you feel humility is such an important topic?
I struggled understanding this topic and applying it. And in various situations I realized how important this is.
What advice do you have on handling constructive criticism?
Take the emotion our of your response. Look at the feedback logically. And don’t take it personally, leverage the feedback to learn more about who you are. Lastly, try to understand their intent, and put a positive spin on the feedback so that it can help you.
Who do you listen to for personal development?
Learn from the people who have made it big in some area, such as – Michael Jordan, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tony Robbins, Robert Kiyosaki, Tai Lopez.
What do you every day to stay focused?
I have a morning routine. I write out my five big goals, and start my day looking in the mirror getting grounded in those goals. I tie these foundational goals to something bigger.
Best Piece of Advice?
Take a day and plan out your vision of what you want your life to be like. Have a brainstorming session with yourself.
What do you believe to be true?
Pursue your passion unapologetically!
