80: How Do You Define Honor And Loyalty?

I have finally caught up with the rest of the world on Game of Thrones.  For many reasons this week, one aspect of this show has been on my mind a great deal.  And that is the topic of honor and loyalty.  This show redefines what true loyalty means, in every regard.  This extends to your family, your tribe, to someone’s life that you are sworn to protect.  The truth is this loyalty only works when it is driven by a deep sense of honor.  The word honor is not only one we don’t use very often to describe someone anymore, it is unfortunately also not a common driving force in how decisions are made.  I have thought a great deal about how honor and loyalty show up in the work place as well, or maybe more accurately said, how it doesn’t show up, or certainly doesn’t seem to last.
